About Sunday Nzogera

I am a self-starter, field-orientated and hardworking, always striving to deliver results. I have more than 12 years experience in mining industry working as Lab Chemist, Plant Metallurgist, Minerals Auditor, Gemologist and now as Laboratory Engineer 1 at University of Dar es Salaam, Department of Chemical and Mining Engineering/Minerals Processing. During this period I have support, monitor and improve the operations and continue to pursue this area of professional development.
In particular I am aware of environmental, health and safety issues and cost management when executing engineering projects. I am able to work into Managerial position in a field and teamwork to deliver positive results.

ACHIEVEMENT

  • I have the Knowledge of the processing plant equipments, tailing dam management, chemical / reagents handling system, crusher, grinding, gold recovery, elution and CIL
  • Participation in the process plant commissioning (Buzwagi Gold Mine) by transferring design criteria and KPI’s into function by performing many test works to make sure that we meet the designated production
  • I have knowledge and expertise of minerals processing on the following areas; Process plant operations in comminution, minerals concentration (specifically including flotation and CIL) thickening and filtration, materials handling, hydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy as well as knowledge of developing analytical and problem solving skill with the ability of analyzing information and prepare written reports, conduct &present findings (results) to my superiors.
  • Participation in Mineral Processing Masters curriculum preparation and Mineral processing curriculum review.
  • Geochem laboratory experience in sample preparation, digestion and analysis using AAS, Spectrophometer, Gas Chromatograph, ICP etc.
